The springs were sticking in our backs all night, and for such an expensive stay we were disappointed about this. This may sound like a small issue, but the pod was unusable while it was chirping. We asked in the morning, and had to ask again in the afternoon as it hadn't yet been done. We did have to go and ask a couple of times for a battery to be replaced in one of the sensors in our pod as it kept chirping and driving our dog a bit mad.

Really spacious and the facilities were brilliant. The glamping pod itself was well put together, the only thing it didn't have that we could have done with was a dustpan and brush. We were really pleased with the camp site, which was in a great location, was within easy walking distance of some pubs and Conistion, which has a few shops, cafes and lots of pubs. Also, there is very little in Coniston, with inflated prices for a captive market.… Ita a well kept campsite, but I wouldn't come back due to the distance from Coniston. The other right is leaving from a path near Reception, through through cow field (I was nervous!) And then onto a fairly busy, barrow road and then a path. This way, you have to walk through another campsite which is like walking through Glastonbury festival- be ready for the sights and 'smells'! And then through a couple if fields with some very tame sheep. There are 2 routes into town - one is leaving at the bottom of the campsite, walking through fields near the water. All the loos shut at different times so if the one closest to you is closed for cleaning, the others will be open. Hot water on a proper tap instead of a timed push button which is great. There are a few toilet blocks and we used a couple of them - both lovely and clean and modern, with plenty loos and showers. The campsite is like a wilderness of woodland, but can seem quite dark sue to the height of the trees. We only had 2 ramps with us for our motorhome and we could have done with 3 or 4. Many pitches are VERY uneven, so beware of that. Some of the pitches, you park sideways on, as though you are parallel parking, and some you drive Into, front or back.

Some of the pitches were no longer free when we looked, and the site is a Warren of little cul de sacs and turns, so it was quite difficult to navigate round. The entrance to the site has a food van (does pizza and fish and chips in alternate nights) and a shop.

When we arrived, my husband checked in, and was to to go and find a free pitch and was advised on the map of where the free pitches are. We stayed here for 2 nights in mid August.
